Mike Harrington

After earning his MBA with a concentration in Development and Environmental Planning, Mike began his real estate career on Hatteras Island in 2004. In 2007 Resort Realty decided to not renew their affiliate agreement with Prudential® Real Estate and return to their Outer Banks roots. It was during this time that he was hired to help with the transition. Under Mike ’s leadership and direction, Resort Realty has seen steady growth and success.

Mike is a member of the Outer Banks Association of Realtors Board of Directors and sits on the conference program planning committee of the Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA).

   

Stuart Pack

Stuart joined Resort Realty in May 2011 and brought with him nearly ten years management experience in the vacation rental and real estate sales industry. Stuart worked for nearly nine years in Avon, NC, where he held positions of Director of Accounting to Senior Vice President and General Manager overseeing approximately 575 vacation rental homes. In addition, Stuart also worked as the COO and General Manager at a vacation rental company in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. He has a Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager designation.

Stuart works hard to support Resort Realty’s mission for clear communications, excellent maintenance and housekeeping, and maximum rental incomes for homeowners. He believes in great customer service and same day callback communications.

Vanessa Riddick

Vanessa has grown with Resort Realty and knows the rental business from the ground up. She started her career with the company in 2000 in the reservations department; and a year later, she received her NC Real Estate License and advanced to Nags Head Assistant Rental Manager.

In 2002, she took on the role of Rental Manager for Resort’s Duck office. By 2004, Vanessa was promoted to her current position, Property Manager, in charge of overseeing all rental management operations. She is a lifelong Outer Banks resident, growing up on Ocracoke Island and later attending Manteo High School.

   

Lesley Moore

Resort Realty welcomed Lesley in fall 2009. As Reservations Manager, Lesley oversees the reservations staff and operations from the Nags Head office. Originally from Richmond, VA, Lesley vacationed with her family on the Outer Banks before moving here in 1993 when her father retired. She graduated from Manteo High School and attended COA.

Lesley has worked in the vacation rental industry for over ten years, starting in housekeeping and reservations and ultimately overseeing reservation departments.

   

Tracy Banks

Tracy Banks joined Resort Realty as Assistant Rental Manager in summer of 2010 and was promoted to Rental Manager by winter 2010. Tracy grew up in Oakton in Northern Virginia and lived in Virginia Beach before moving to the Outer Banks in 2000. She graduated from Radford University with a BS in Recreation and Leisure Services.

Tracy worked at Great Neck Recreation Center for nine years, as well as a teacher at Lighthouse Christian Learning Center for two years. She has been a Broker for eight years. Tracy is an active volunteer at Liberty Church.

   

Fran Zygler

Fran joined the Resort Realty team as Rental Manager in the summer of 2009. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the property management of Resort’s Duck rental homes. Fran is originally from New Jersey and has lived on the Outer Banks for 7 years. He has over 25 years of sales experience.

   

Cindy Rhodes

Originally from the Tidewater area of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Cindy started her career in customer service by working as a ticket agent for Piedmont Airlines (now US Airways). She furthered her experience by working as a shipping supervisor for Smith Douglass Fertilizer, government contractor, retail manager, teller at Bank of Currituck, and sales agent for Riggs Realty and Twiddy & Co.

She worked for Resort Realty for five years and after a short leave, rejoined the team in 2002 overseeing the property management of the Corolla rental homes. Since then, Cindy has enjoyed working with wonderful co-workers and rental homeowners.

   

Laura Nickolas, Assistant Rental Manager (Corolla)

Laura was born and raised in Virginia Beach and later moved to Florida where she received her Real Estate Sales license. She is now also licensed in VA and NC. Laura worked in the travel/hospitality industry for eight years and continued to work in the field when she moved to the Outer Banks in 2009. Laura is a world traveler who loves Corolla for its secludedness and island charm. She is eager to assist our owners in that area.

Nancy Vaughn, Assistant Rental Manager (Duck)

Nancy relocated to the Outer Banks 15 years ago. She spent 20 years in the customer service industry then began her career in real estate in 2003 as an Assistant Rental Manager/ Property Consultant. She moved into Sales in 2004 and then returned to join Resort Realty in Duck as the Assistant Rental Manager. Nancy helps oversee the property management of Resort's Duck rental homes and is also Broker Associate.

Rick Robinson, Assistant Rental Manager (Nags Head)

Originally from the Tidewater area of Virginia, Rick had been vacationing in the Outer Banks with family and friends for many years before making the islands his home. In addition to his background in architecture, Rick has more than five years experience in rental management. In his role as assistant rental manager, Rick is responsible for helping to oversee the property management of Resort’s Nags Head rental homes.

George Bell, Events Coordinator

George has been in the rental and event planning business since 1994. He has planned and managed all types of events ranging from simple birthday parties to the most extravagant events. Before joining the Resort Realty team, George specialized in planning events for weddings, company picnics and change of commands for the military for Special Events Entertainment of Virginia. As our coordinator of events, George provides the availability of Event Homes that allow the hosting of ceremonies and receptions for weddings, family reunions and more! He can also help to secure additional properties in the area for party guests.

Originally from PA, Cathy has lived on the Outer Banks since 1984. She has been with Resort Realty for 15 years, starting as a rental reservationist, then moving to sales administrator, manager of sales administrators, and operations manager.

Chris Toolan, Business Development Director and Real Estate Sales

Chris is a 1986 graduate of the University of Richmond. He moved to the Outer Banks in 1989 and has been very active in giving back to the community ever since. His Board of Director positions have reflected his commitment to both business and environmental stewardship. Chris has worked in Real Estate Brokerage since 2004 after a successful 18 year career as a business owner in the recruiting and management industry. He first joined Resort Realty as a Broker and was later tapped to take on the role of Business Development Director. Chris is responsible for identifying and securing business growth opportunities for the company and manages his real estate career. He embraces Resort Realty’s mission of being the premier Outer Banks Vacation Rental Company, in an industry that significantly helps drive the health of the Outer Banks economy.

Roy Singletary, Real Estate Sales Manager

Roy and his family relocated to the Outer Banks in 1984. He joined the Resort Realty sales team at our Kitty Hawk office in 1997, specializing in residential sales of the southern beaches. Six years later, Roy accepted the position of Sales Manager for the Resort Realty sales team. This position requires him to be constantly updated on new laws and rules of both the North Carolina Real Estate Commission and the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® and to pass this information on to all agents. Roy is charged with growing the company sales through the recruitment of professional sales agents while maintaining the high standards of Resort Realty.

Leta Bishop, Rental Accounting Manager

Leta joined Resort Realty as our Rental Accountant in August 2009, to oversee all rental trust accounting. Raised in Boca Raton, Florida, Leta moved to the Outer Banks in 1992. Since studying at Broward College in Florida, Leta co-owned a business, working as the office administrator and accountant for nine years. Leta has also worked in rental accounting and has had over 20 years accounting experience before joining Resort’s team.

Jenna Pempek, Marketing Director

As Marketing Director, Jenna is responsible for overseeing Resort’s strategic marketing plan and reaching the Outer Banks vacationer and home buyer through web, print and media. Jenna holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Advertising/Public Relations and Photojournalism. Originally from Ohio, she spent many family vacations on the Outer Banks, so when the opportunity arose in 2008 to move from Washington, DC, where she was employed as marketing coordinator for a national non-profit, she eagerly accepted and has since been with Resort.

David Pergerson, New Owner Consultant

Originally from the southeastern North Carolina coast and a licensed broker since 2005, David began his property management experience on a Hatteras Island front desk. Within a year he rose to the level of Assistant Manager of over 500 properties and later, in the position of Director of Owner Relations, discovered a passion for engaging new and existing homeowners as they transitioned from other management companies. Now serving as Resort’s New Owner Consultant, David is eager to demonstrate what Resort Realty can bring to the table to realize your unique investment property goals.

Cathy Cole, Rental Operations Manager

Cathy was born and raised locally in Columbia, NC (Tyrrell County) but has been living in Elizabeth City for over 11 years. After high school, she studied Office Technology at College of the Albemarle. Cathy was hired as a reservationist in October 1997 with Outer Banks Ltd (which Resort Realty acquired in January 2000). Since then she has worked at Resort as Reservation Supervisor and now Rental Operations Manager. In this position, Cathy supervises the day-to-day operations of Resort including managing housekeeping, maintenance and linens from the Currituck Operations Center.

Angie Walker, Housekeeping Supervisor

Angie was born in Chesapeake, VA and moved to the Outer Banks in 1994 with her family. She is a graduate of Manteo High School and later attended Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington. Angie has worked in the vacation rental industry for 11 years: from reservations and front desk to cleaning and inspecting. For the past five years, she has worked in the management capacity and has enjoyed overseeing the day-today operations of a housekeeping department.
