The Elizabeth II
A full-size reproduction of a 16th century sailing ship and is named for one of the seven vessels that sailed from England to the New World in 1584. Docked at Roanoke Island Festival Park. 252-475-1500
The Currituck Beach Lighthouse
Built in 1874 by the Lighthouse Establishment, the same year the famous Life Saving Service began building stations every six miles down the coast from the Virginia state line. Its imported Fresnel lens and whale-oil lamp reached ships as far as 25 miles offshore. 252-453-4939
Bodie Island Lighthouse
Built in 1872, original lighthouse had been destroyed during the Civil War and was situated south of the inlet was made accessible by a storm in 1848. 252-441-5711
Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
Built in 1870, this is America's tallest lighthouse (208 feet). Moved to its current location in 1999, the historic move brought international attention to the Outer Banks. 252-995-4474
Ocracoke Lighthouse
Built in 1823, this is the Outer Bank's oldest and shortest lighthouse. Located on the southwestern corner of Ocracoke Village. 252-928-4531
