The 31st Annual Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament, held August 11th-15th, 2014, is a world-class event and home to the state record blue marlin – caught on the 25th anniversary of the tournament, weighing in at a whopping 1,228.5 pounds!

Located in Nags Head on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Pirate’s Cove Marina plays host to this popular annual fishing tournament – full of fun and festivities for the entire family including nightly entertainment from bands like The Band of Oz, dinners by Kelly’s Restaurant and Black Pelican, contests, giveaways, and more…including a premiere screening of Wicked Tuna: North vs. South.

On Thursday, August 14th at 8:00 p.m., the National Geographic Channel will host a premiere screening of the new series Wicked Tuna: North vs. South at the Pavilion at Pirate’s Cove. Shot on location right here on the Outer Banks, this spinoff series features local OBX fisherman competing against northern fishing captains from the original Wicked Tuna series during North Carolina’s bluefin fishing season. Everyone is welcome and there will even be cast members and other special guests in attendance.
