On September 1st, check out the free Sunset Festival at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing and enjoy rock wall climbing and mechanical shark riding! Also browse everything stores at the crossing have to offer. The annual 2018 WRV Pro will also be happening at Jennette’s Pier! This professional surf contest features top rated surfers from around the world, plus, this event is free!

Labor Day Weekend is the perfect time to discover all of the history that makes up the Outer Banks. Visit Roanoke Island Festival Park and learn about the first military settlement that inhabited Roanoke Island. Spend some time under the sea at the North Carolina Aquarium and learn about all of the wetland and sea life on the Outer Banks! The Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station is also a great place to learn about the history of the turfmen on Outer Banks!
