DAY 1 | Gliding Through The Air

HANG GLIDING

While visiting the place where the Wright Brothers first flew, take a page out of their book. Experience the thrill of flying, the Outer Banks adventure seekers greatest feat.  Kitty Hawk Kites, with their flagship store here in Nags Head, is the largest hang gliding school in the world and they have been providing hand gliding lessons for over 25 years.

Picture yourself at the top of Jockey’s Ridge (one of the largest living sand dunes in the US), strapped into your hardness and ready to fly. Your instructor helps guide the glider as you into the wind and take off down the dune. You could travel up to 100 yards being 15 feet in the air during your flight! All skill levels and ages are welcome, and beginners are encouraged to try.
