  • Pack a “fun bag” that kids can open along the way – fill it with books, magnet boards, coloring books and crayons and small toys.
  • Are your kids a little older? Play the license plate game!

Primary Home Checklist

  • Arrange a house and/or pet sitter. (Make sure you have enough pet food.)
  • Take out the garbage.
  • Empty the refrigerator.
  • Forward mail or have a neighbor check it.
  • Pay any bills with due dates that are near.
  • Raise the temperature on the thermostat.
  • Make sure every window and door is locked.
  • Set the alarm.

That’s it! Pack everything on our list into a giant suitcase and you’re sure to have the best OBX vacation ever. Just kidding. Each group/family has different needs and interests – so while you should use our beach packing list as a helpful guide, please remember to tailor this list to your specific situation. And don’t forget the patience! Your summer vacation won’t at all unless you remember to relax and have FUN!
