Summer Weather during December here on the Outer Banks
This holiday season the OBX locals and visitors are stringing Christmas light in flip flops instead of warm winter coats. December has graced us with warm temperatures in the high 60s to low 70s all month long, with little to no wind. Meterlogoists are predicting the same weather to carry through to Christmas day. The surfers, sunshine lovers, and our furry friends consider this weather as an early Christmas gift and are taking advantage of it while it lasts. Here are some photos from our staff enjoying the 70 degree pre-winter weather.
Our talented photographer, Cory Godwin, captured some surfers catching some waves this weekend. Groundswell + no wind = Great surfing conditions!
Lesley, our Director of Reservation Sales, and her son, Paxton, are loving spending time together by the sound. Barefeet and smiles let you know the sun is shining and the weather is sweet!
Our furry friends are having a blast roaming free and chasing sea gulls on the beach in Nags Head.
First Flight’s varisty basketball team took a scenic ferry ride back from Ocracoke’s Christmas Tournament this weekend.
