November is just around the corner! More fall Outer Banks events are happening up and down the beach. While you’re here enjoying autumn on the Banks, check out some great local events! (Plus, fun events are just one more reason to start planning your next Outer Banks vacation!)

Enjoy 3-course meals at some of the best restaurants on the Outer Banks! Restaurants like Rooster’s Southern Kitchen, Owens’, and many more are offering meals at either $20 or $35 for you to savor. Watch up and coming USA Junior Olympic surfers compete and train! This event is free and occurs daily!
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM @ Ocean Boulevard in Kitty Hawk
A shrimp lovers paradise! Come to the Outer Banks Shrimp Cook-Off and sample shrimp dishes prepared by local chefs. Guests can sample all shrimp dishes and vote for their favorite! Tickets are $25 and benefit the Outer Banks Center for Dolphin Research. Visit the event site here for more information.
The Outer Banks Marathon is upon us! This 26.2-mile run is a Boston Marathon qualifier. TowneBank is sponsoring this running event plus shorter runs like the Southern Fried Half Marathon, Southern 6, Take the Challenge!, 8k, 5k, and fun runs! For more information, visit the Marathon site here.
6:00 AM – 12:00 PM @ Avon Fishing Pier
The PBR Classic Fishing Tournament at Avon Pier is a red drum and blue-fish based event! The tournament will benefit the American Legion. The entry fee for the tournament is $90 ($60 for annual pier pass holders). For more information and tournament registration, visit the website here.
12:00 PM – 5:00 PM @ Sanctuary Vineyards in Jarvisburg
All you can eat steamed oysters?! Yes, please! The Big Curri-Shuck has all you can eat steamed oysters and steamed crabs and BBQ while it lasts. Local wine and beer sampling will be happening as well. Plus, live local music! To purchase tickets, visit the Sanctuary Vineyards website.

7 PM @ Bluegrass Island Trading Co
Come out to this free event featuring the United States Navy Band! Show starts at 7 PM at Bluegrass Island Trading Co. in Manteo. Make sure you bring a chair or blanket!
10/4 – 10/7 – Bluegrass Festival
12:00 PM Daily @ Roanoke Island Festival Park
View over 25 talented Bluegrass artists from all over the country! The annual Bluegrass Festival is held every year at Roanoke Island Festival Park. For ticket info and more, visit the Bluegrass Festival website.
10/7 – Ducktober Fest
2:00 PM – 7:00 PM @ Sweet T’s in Duck
Choose from 23 different taps at Sweet T’s in Duck at Ducktober Fest! This event is $25 for 21+ adults. You get unlimited tastings and a take-home Sweet T’s glass! For more information, visit Sweet T’s website.
10/17 – 10/22 Wings Over Water Wildlife Festival
Various Locations on the Outer Banks
Learn about the wildlife of the Outer Banks at this 5-day festival. Made up of art, photography tours and programs, Wings Over Water is a fun and educational event. For more information, visit the WOW website.
10/19 – Island Art Show
10:00 AM – 5:00 PM @ Rodanthe – Waves – Salvo Community Center
View works from over 20 local artists on the Outer Banks. Their works will be shown and sold so make sure you bring money to purchase a few treasures! For more information, visit their website here.
10/21 – Seafood Festival
10:30 AM – 6:00 PM @ Soundside Event Site
A day of fun, education, and food await you at the Outer Banks Seafood Festival! Learn about Outer Banks watermen, see boats, and try different foods from local restaurants. 10/28 – Brewtag
12:00 PM – 5:00 PM @ Soundside Event Site
Celebrate flight and beer! The OBX Brewtag takes inspiration from the Red Bull Flutag with seeing who can launch and fly an empty 1/6 keg the furthest. Admission to this event is free, but bring a few bucks to purchase food and craft beer! For more information visit the Brewtag website.
