Who doesn’t love some tasty frozen yogurt on a hot summer day? Even better if if it’s a cool little joint owned by a renowned local surfer, right? Yeww!!!

Surfin’ Spoon is just that.

Located in Nags Head on the Beach Road at milepost 10.5, Surfin’ Spoon is owned by (former) professional surfer Jesse Hines and his wife, Whitney.

What makes this froyo place different from all the rest? Well for one, where else can you find radical flavors like Bodacious Blueberry Tart or Watermelon Sorbet? Or a fun little list of “Surfin’ Spoon Lingo” to make sure you’re totally in the know when hanging out at this local hotspot. Or even their very own children’s book featuring Sebi, the real life surfin’ spoon?!?

In the end, Surfin’ Spoon is full of good ole fashioned Outer Banks flavor (pun intended) and Southern charm. A place where you just want to hang out on a summer day.

So, after a long day on the beach, simply walk across the street to enjoy some awesome frozen yogurt, super-friendly staff, and a super cool laid-back atmosphere — including a large flat screen showing surf movies, wifi, a fun game room with foosball and classic arcade games, and a nice little cozy bench area perfect for the groms.

PS – Say, is that money in the ceiling?!? Surfin’ Spoon is raising money for the local event, Surfing for Autism, on August 23rd — via donations in their ceiling. They’ve raised $250 already this summer and look forward to collecting more from their devoted brahs.
