May 27th // Memorial Day Beach Blast

12:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Historic Corolla Park

This free family friendly event is full of fun and music! Enjoy music from local Outer Banks bands and get ready to dance! Food and beverage vendors will be on site so bring your beach chairs, sit back, and enjoy! No outside alcohol or coolers are permitted.


May 28th // 7th Annual Shore Break 5K + Tide Pool Fun Run

8:00 AM, Koru Village Beach Klub in Avon

A fun run for the whole family, the Shore Break 5K takes you through beautiful Kinnakeet Shores, wooden bridges, and the beautiful beaches of Avon! Runners of all levels are welcome and all proceeds for this race goes toward the Hatteras Island Youth Education Fund. The Tide Pool Fun Run is held on the beach and is held right after the 5K at 9 AM. Following the races are a post race party featuring a pancake breakfast and Carolina Brewery beers for runners that are 21 and up. For more information and registration, visit the website here.


May 28th // Rock The Cape Island Art Show

May 25th // Opening Night of The Lost Colony

7:45 PM, 1409 National Park Drive

View one of the Outer Banks’ finest treasures and Americas longest running outdoor drama. The Lost Colony opens back up for its 81st season! Learn about what happened to the first English colony to inhabit America as they mysteriously disappeared off of Roanoke Island. Tickets for adults start at $20 and kids under age 5 are free!
