Our full summer event schedule is complete with the Town of Duck 4th of July Parade and Community Celebration! The annual one-mile parade route begins at the crest of the hill on Scarborough Lane, travels east towards the ocean, turns left onto Ocean Way, and then continues onto Christopher Drive to end at Pamela Court. Please note: no part of the parade will take place on Duck Road.

A Community Celebration will be held immediately following the parade at the Duck Town Park. The celebration will feature live music, cold refreshments, including watermelon provided by Green Acres Farm Market, and the awarding of the parade trophies.

What better way to celebrate America’s independence than with free live music and a spectacular firework show on the northern Outer Banks! The Currituck County Department of Travel & Tourism invites you to Historic Corolla Park for our annual Independence Day Celebration! Activities begin at 5:00pm and conclude with the largest fireworks show on the Outer Banks at dusk. Admission is free and free parking is available at the park until our lots are full. Enjoy incredible live music, fun family activities and more! Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase by local vendors. Please note that no coolers, alcohol or on-street parking are permitted in the park. The Historic Corolla Park boat ramp and Air Up Station will be closed from 3pm on July 3rd until 7am July 5th. No boat docking will be allowed. Only leashed dogs are permitted. However, due to the noise from the fireworks, dogs are not recommended at this event.

Parking:
Free onsite parking for this event will begin at 3:00pm at Historic Corolla Park and will be available on a first come, first served basis. With record crowds this summer on the The Northern Outer Banks and with many visitors expected to attend, please note that our dedicated onsite parking spaces are expected to fill up early. Please plan accordingly.

Under the Oaks Arts Festival is a fine art show which offers a colorful array of vibrant artworks on the grounds of the postcard-perfect setting of the Whalehead in Historic Corolla. This popular festival brings together a collection of talented artists and visitors can expect to find paintings and prints, photography, pottery, jewelry, woodworks, and much more. Free for all attendees, local food concessions are available as well as a silent art auction that is open to the public. This is a great opportunity to pick up some local treasures that are truly one-of-a-kind.

Join the Currituck County Department of Travel & Tourism every Wednesday for local wine & beer, live music and curated local craft artisans in the breathtaking and peaceful setting of Historic Corolla Park. Admission to this event is free. Beer, wine, food, crafts and cocktails will be available for purchase. You may purchase beer and wine by the glass or by the bottle. There will be no free tastings at this event.

Experience a scary, myth filled adventure through your favorite museums on Hatteras Island with the 1st Annual Thrills Chills Hatteras Museum Halloween Tour! Join them, the Frisco Native American Museum, as we partner with the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station, The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, and The Lost Colony Museum to bring you tales full of mystery, spooks, and chills.

Each location will share their own thrilling tales at different times through the day (storytelling sessions will last approx. 40 minutes each) and you’re encouraged to visit all four locations if you dare!
