The Outer Banks is known for its large fishing community and the vast amount of local seafood found throughout the barrier islands. However, did you know the Outer Banks is also home to fresh, local produce grown right here and in the surrounding areas? With many local OBX produce stands to be found up and down the coast, you can get fresh, organic fruits and vegetables to keep meals for you and your family balanced and healthy during your vacation! You can still find fresh, locally sourced produce all over the OBX; below you’ll find some of our favorites.

Secotan Market | Wanchese, NC

Secotan Market is a producer-only farmer’s market in Wanchese that features everything from fresh produce and eggs to locally sourced honey, potted plants, and more. You can see their updated schedules on their website or on the Secotan Market Facebook page.

Downtown Manteo Market | Manteo, NC

106 Fernando St, Manteo NC

Another option to find OBX produce is The Downtown Market in Manteo. Right along the waterfront, you’ll find fresh produce, delicious homemade baked goods, local arts and crafts, and more. The Downtown Market is held seasonally each Saturday beginning in May and ending in September. Dowdy Park Farmers Market | Nags Head, NC
