Our Beach Accesses

No matter where you are on the Outer Banks, it’s easy to find a space in the sand! The Outer Banks spans over 118 miles from Corolla to Ocracoke (and 95 of those miles are home to Resort Realty vacation homes). With so much space, you’ll be able to set up camp in your own little corner of the beach with your family.

Southern Beach Accesses

So you’ll be able to find a spot at almost any beach access on the Outer Banks, but especially on Hatteras Island. The beauty of vacationing down on Hatteras Island is the wide, open beaches and accesses! The Hatteras seashore is protected by the government. Meaning you won’t find a ton of big, oceanfront businesses but pure, pristine shoreline! The beach is one of the most popular open spaces, but it’s that much better when it’s not crowded. The beaches are so wide down south, you’ll be able to find your own spot away from everyone else. Added bonus? Being able to enjoy to sound of crashing waves!

Jockey’s Ridge

Spanning over 427 acres of land lies Jockey’s Ridge; the tallest active sand dune system in the Eastern United States! On a nice day, Jockey’s Ridge is a great place to hang out, let the kids climb around, and even set up a picnic! The views from the top of the dune give you stunning views of the sound and the ocean at the same time. With so much open space across this National Park, you’re bound to find some relaxation, isolation, and build memories with family!

Sound Accesses

Most people don’t ever think to hang out at the sound but sometimes it can be better than the beach! The sound is a mix of salt and freshwater (called brackish) and leads back out to the ocean. The sound often doesn’t have large waves like the ocean and is perfect for kiddos since it’s so shallow. Some sound accesses are like having your own private oasis all to yourself!
