A Wonderful Home Away From Home — We Can't Wait to Return!

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful beach house! This was our second time staying here, and once again, we were not disappointed. The home was exceptionally clean, well stocked, and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
It truly feels like a home away from home, and we appreciate all the little details that make staying here so easy and relaxing. We enjoyed our time here so much that we have already booked our stay for next year — and we honestly can’t wait to come back!
Resort Realty has also been wonderful to work with. They have been extremely helpful, responsive, and have gone above and beyond to help make our stays enjoyable.
We highly recommend this home and Resort Realty. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Southwind has everything that you want for your small group. Perfect for a couple or small family. Everything is well stocked and thoughtful to your needs for a great vacation spot. Very close to beach and views of ocean. Enjoy coffee on the deck in the morning for beautiful views of the sunrises.

Wonderful house and very clean. Even though pet friendly, the property owner at the end of the street was not and complained about my dog even though I cleaned up her potty. I did notice other renters whose dogs used her yard and they were not leased. I hope she complained about them as well. That owner needs to either post signs like they do in Myrtle Beach or fence in her yard. She will ruin renters’ vacations by her complaints. However, the house we rented was wonderful. Only suggestion, a bigger bed on the main floor.

Had a great time Southwind had everything we needed. We will be booking next year! We had a wonderful stay! The home was only steps from the beach, which made it so easy to enjoy the ocean all day. Everything was comfortable, and we truly loved our time here. Highly recommend for a relaxing beach getaway! Bonus it’s dog friendly!

We have been to this house for 9 seasons and will keep coming as long as it is available. Not only does it have great beach views and convenient access to beach but also provides sun decks if you just want to hang out at the house. The owners take pride in their home and are always accommodating. The house is terrific for small groups and does allow pets.

this was a nice beach cottage just steps away from the ocean. we were lucky with nicer weather a little bit later in the season and the place had everything we needed. It was clean and things worked properly. Would definitely stay again.

Really love the ocean views at Southwind. The house is always so welcoming. We have spent 8 seasons here and enjoy all of its amenities. Southwind’s Rodanthe location affords easy access to attractions throughout the Outer Banks. We don’t want or need anything else because Southwind has it all!

We loved this place. It was practically on the beach. It's hard to find a small place these days for a beach vacation. The house even had a few beach chairs and boogie boards stored away in the outside storage closet on the deck. There were also games and puzzles in the laundry closet. At one point in time I think there was a charcoal grill outside but, there isn't one any longer. It would be nice to have one there again. We loved reading the guest book and so happy that it's been in one family for so long. Unfortunatly, there are several houses about to be swallowed by the ocean at the same beach. On our last day the health department closed down our beach because the septic tanks from those houses got exposed to the surf. Hopefully, those houses get moved or removed soon. But, there were some nice beaches we could drive to that were not far away.

I have been coming to Hatteras Island for six years now. This, by far, is my favorite house. It is a close walk to the beach, can see and hear the waves from the deck, and the house is just so cute inside and out. I cannot wait to come back next year. It truly felt like a home away from home. The driveway was full of sand so I couldn’t pull in all the way, but that was fine..it is the beach! We enjoyed our stay so much; we were sad to leave.

Nice Oceanside cottage. Beautifully decorated. Lovely back porch with a generous view of the ocean. Only downside was the spiral stairs that led up to the loft/bedroom.They were located in the middle of the room off of the kitchen and took up a lot of space. Definitely would rent it again.

We stayed at the Southwind property and this house is so cute! We absolutely loved our stay here. Very spacious and beautiful decor. Nice porch that you can relax on while watching the ocean. The staff at Resort Realty were very accommodating with all of the COVID stuff going on and made sure everything was clean and inspected before we checked in. Can't wait to go back!

We have rented Southwind for 5 years now after stumbling across it during a scheduling mishap. Since then it is OUR house. Nearly ocean front, excellent view. It has changed realtors during that time. Currently with Resort Realty our stay has been perfect. As someone wrote in the guest ledger it is 87 steps from the bottom stair to feet in the water.
