Across the street there is a private boat dock on the scenic Currituck Sound with kayak rentals and guided tours available. Otherwise known as Section O of Ocean Sands, this lovely area boasts The Ocean Lake Swim and Tennis Club. It features an olympic sized pool, a kiddie pool, large decks with covered picnic areas, changing rooms, and tennis courts. The pool is open from mid-May until late September, weather permitting.
Ocean Sands
Ocean Sands is a 3-mile long subdivision with ocean and lake accessibility. For those who like to have more privacy, Sections A, B and C have larger sized lots that offer additional space. For those that have smaller families or multiple families that need their own accommodations, Section F of Ocean Sands has both a townhome and condo complex with their own community pools. Villages at Ocean Hill
Located just south of where the paved road ends, this peaceful community runs from ocean to sound and borders the estuarine sanctuary to the north on the sound side. There are two community pools - one oceanfront with a picnic area; one sound side by Crystal Lake. Four tennis courts, a basketball court and a playground are just across the street from the soundside pool. Both pools have parking available. Whalehead Beach
This popular oceanside subdivision has large half acre lots, which contribute to the feeling of spaciousness that vacationers love. It runs north to south for 12 blocks; each block is 12 lots long. Each cross street has its own beach access, with the Bonito Street access boasting a lifeguard as well. There are several conveniently located parking areas for those who prefer not to walk.
